White Chicken Karahi

There are various types of Karahi, and one of my favourite is the White Chicken Karahi. The White Chicken Karahi is quite creamy with minimum spices. The flavour of the Green Chilies and the creaminess of the Gravy just uplifts this dish.
It is very simple to prepare especially when if you are looking for a delicious and quick meal for the family. Garnishing is the most important part of any Karahi so make sure that you garnish it well.
You can serve this with hot Nans, Rotis or Parathas and ofcourse some fresh salad.

Equipment

  • Karahi/Wok

Ingredients
  

  • 1 kg Chicken cut into 10-12 pieces with bones
  • 1/4 cup Oil
  • 1 tbsp Ginger & Garlic Paste
  • 1 tsp Green Chilli Paste
  • 1 cup Yogurt
  • 6-8 Green Chilies
  • 1 tsp Black Pepper (Crushed) You may use Black Pepper Powder as an alternative
  • 1/2 tsp Garam Masala Powder
  • 1 tbsp Coriander Powder (Roasted)
  • 1 tsp Cumin Powder (Roasted)
  • 2 tbsp Cream Optional
  • 1 tsp Dried Fenugreek Leaves Kasuri Methi
  • Salt According to taste

Garnishing

  • Coriander Leaves As required
  • Mint Leaves As required
  • Ginger (julienne cut) As required

Instructions
 

  • Heat Oil in a Karahi/Wok
  • Add the Chicken and fry for about 1-2 minutes
  • Now add the Ginger & Garlic Paste and the Chilli Paste and fry for another 1-2 minutes
  • Now add the Green Chilies and fry the Chicken until the Chicken changes it's colour
  • Add the Yogurt, crushed Black Pepper, Garam Masala Powder, Coriander Powder, Cumin Powder and salt
  • Fry the masala for 5 minutes until the Oil floats and cover the dish for about 5-10 minutes until the Chicken is cooked
  • Now add the cream (optional) and give the Karahi a Good Stir
  • Now increase the flame and fry the Karahi
  • Add the Dried Fenugreek Leaves and stir
  • Now Garnish your Karahi with Ginger, Coriander and Mint Leaves
  • Drizzle some lemon juice and serve with hot Nans, Parathas or Rotis
