Singaporean Rice
Singaporean Rice is originally a Pakistani Desi Chinese dish. It has been told that it was created by one of the caterers for a wedding which gained much popularity. Later it became so popular that it was on the menu for weddings and other big gatherings. Singaporean Rice has a unique combination of Rice, Noodles and Gravy, which is assembled together. The taste is quite unique and appetizing which is a combination of both Desi and Chinese flavours
Ingredients
Ingredients for Gravy
- 1/2 kg Chicken Boneless Cut in Strips/Cubes as per your choice
- 1 tbsp Ginger and Garlic Paste
- 1 tbsp Vinegar
- 1 tbsp Soya Sauce
- 1/2 tsp Paprika Powder Can use Red Chilli Powder if Paprika Powder is not available
- 1/2 tsp Black Pepper Powder
- 1 tbsp Chilli Sauce
- 1/2 cup Tomato Sauce/Ketchup
- 1/4 cup Water
- Salt
- 3 tbsp Oil
Ingredients for Stir Fried Noodles
- 300 gms Egg Noodles Boiled and strained
- 1/2 cup Capsicum Julienne cut
- 1/2 cup Spring Onions Julienne cut
- 1/2 cup Carrots Julienne cut
- 1 cup Cabbage
- 1/2 tsp Black Pepper
- 1/2 tsp Paprika Powder Can use Red Chilli Powder if Paprika Powder is not available
- 2 tbsp Soya Sauce
- 2 tbsp Oil
- Salt According to taste
Special Sauce
- 1/2 cup Mayonise
- 1/4 cup Tomato Sauce/Ketchup
- 1 tbsp Chilli Sauce
Rice
- 1/2 kg Rice Boiled (When boiling add 1 tbsp of oil alongwith salt in the water)
Garnishing
- 3 Green Chillies Julienne cut
- 4 cloves Garlic Thinly Sliced
Instructions
Preparation of the Gravy
- Pour some Oil in a dish and heat it
- Add the Chicken and stir until the Chicken changes its colour
- Add the Ginger and Garlic Paste to the Chicken and stir wel for about a minute
- Add the Black Pepper Powder and Paprika to the Chicken and mix until well combined
- Add Vinegar and Soya Sauce to the Chicken and stir well
- Now add the Chilli Sauce and Tomato Sauce/Ketchup to form the gravy
- Check the salt level at this point and add according to your taste
- Also add the water to the gravy and let it simmer for about 5 minutes on medium flame.
- Now switch off the stove and keep the gravy aside
Preparation of the Stir Fried Noodles
- Pour some Oil in a pan, add the Julienne cut Vegetables besides the Spring Onions
- Stir fry them or about 1 minute
- Add the Black Pepper Powder, Paprika Powder and Salt and stir well
- Now add the Spring Onions and stir for 30 seconds
- Add the strained Noodles and Soya Sauce and give it a good mix until well combined
- Now keep the Stir fried Noodles aside
Preparation of Special Sauce
- Combine all the ingredients together and give it a light whisk
Preparation of Garnishing
- Pour some oil and lightly fry the Green Chillies and Garlic slices and keep them aside for garnising
