Shish Taouk/Shish Tawook
Shish Taouk/Shish Tawook are Middle Eastern ChickeN Skewers. They are great as starters and can be served by itself or in a Pita Bread with some whipped garlic sauce, plated with some fresh salad and some creamy hummus.This is an extremely simple, delicious and healthy grill dish. You can marinate the chicken in the morning and cook these later in the day for a juicy and flavourful delight.
Ingredients
Ingredients for Marination
- 1/2 kg Chicken Boneless cut in cubes
- 3/4 cup Yogurt well beaten
- 1/4 cup Lemon Juice
- 2 tbsp Tomato Paste
- 1 tbsp Minced Garlic
- 1 tsp Paprika Powder You may use red Chilli powder or Kashmiri red Chilli powder in place of Paprika Powder
- 1/2 tsp Cumin Powder
- 1/2 tsp Nutmeg Powder
- 1 tsp Black Pepper Powder
- 1 tsp Dried Oregano
- 3 tbsp Oil
- Salt According to taste
Instructions
- Prepare the marinade by whisking together the yogurt with all the ingredients until well blended
- Now add the boneless Chicken to the marinade and mix well
- Marinate the Chicken for atleast 2 hours but for best results marinate it overnight
- Skewer the chicken on the sticks
- You can grill the Chicken in the oven or pan grill it. You may also air fry it
- TIP: For a more flavourful experience, give coal smoke
- Serve by itself or in a pita bread. Serve with Hummus, Garlic Sauce and fresh salad
