This dish is ready in minutes and the taste is just divine.This dish is very popular in the UK, and is served especially at the Indian Restaurants. You can serve this dish with some Rice or Rotis. My family enjoys eating this dish with some Fried Rice.
Ingredients
- 1/2 kg Boneless Chicken Cut in Strips
- 1.5 tbsp Ginger & Garlic Paste
- 3 tbsp Oil
- 1 tsp Green Chilli Paste
- 1 tsp Paprika Powder You may use Red Chilli Powder as an alternative
- 1/2 tsp Black Pepper Powder
- 1 tsp Red Chilli Flakes
- 1/2 tsp Coriander Powder
- 1/2 tsp Cumin Powder
- 1 tbsp Soya Sauce
- 1 tbsp Tomato Sauce/Ketchup
- 1 Tomato De-seeded and Julienne
- 1 Onion Julienne
- 1 Capsicum Julienne
- Salt According to taste
Instructions
- Heat oil in a pan and sauté the Onion and Capsicum for about 1-2 minutes. Don't brown the vegetables, keep aside once tender
- In the same oil add the Ginger & Garlic paste and the Green Chilli Paste and sauté until aromatic
- Now add the Chicken and stir well until the colour of the Chicken changes
- Now add all the Spices, Salt, Soya Sauce, Tomato Sauce/Ketchup and mix well, until the Oil separates
- Add about 1/2 cup water, cover the dish and let the Chicken cook
- At this stage you can either dry the dish or leave some gravy
- Now add the tomatoes and mix well
- Cover the dish and let it cook until the tomatoes are tender. Don't over cook the tomatoes
- In the end add the sautéed Onions and Capsicums and mix well
- Cover the dish and let it steam for 1-2 minutes until the oil separates
- Chicken Jalfrezi is now ready, garnish it with Coriander leaves or Spring onions
- Serve with Rice or Rotis
