We moved to Perth, Australia around 4 years ago, and we love everything about this City. It truly is a beautiful City with amazing people. Saying that, we do miss the cultural richness of Karachi-the sights, the sounds and most importantly the “FOOD”. Hungry around midnight, just call out to the Paratha wala down the building and he would send some Parathas and chai to your doorstep. Boat Basin or Do Dariya around mid-night is always flooded with people and there is this aroma of magical flavours in the air. Yes!! that’s what is missed the most.
To reminisence all this I started preparing some Desi Pakistani cuisines which we normally would eat out at a restaurant in Karachi or just from the streets of Burns Road. This type of food is normally not cooked at home because you can easily go out at any part of the day or night and buy it. I do quite a bit of research to use the same ingredients and cooking methodology to bring out the authentic flavour that a Nihari from Zahid Nihari would have, a Biryani from Student’s Biryani would have or even the Tikka Boti from Bundoo Khan would have.
Hope you all enjoy this blog and try out the different recipes and do give in your comments!
